Trend: Ray-ban Wayfarers

These sunglasses are a classic and a universal accesory. They can be grunge, glamor, girly, manly, anything you want them to be! In my opinion they are great sunglasses but, looks like everyone in Hollywood is wearing them...so they might be a little over used.....

My Favorite Models: Gemma Ward

Gemma is a 23 yer old super model. Her wide set eyes give her a different look. Her soft features make her look innocent even as she grows older. I love her look.

My Favorite Models: Viktoriya Sasonkina

Viktoriya Sasonkina is a 22 year old super model from Ukraine. My favorite shots of her were from 2008 in Teen Vogue Magazine where her features are all softened to enhance her eyes.

DIY: Dress Form

If you're like me and for some reason money just doesn't seem to like you, but you still want a dress form to conveniently make clothes, you should make one yourself. I just searched it on YouTube and found a whole bunch of different ways to make them. So, I compiled a whole bunch of methods and went to work. I did mine on my own and used an old shirt, then wrapped it with duct tape, then cut it off and stuffed it with poly-fil. Then I covered it in paper mache and a pretty fabric. Here's the video I used to learn how:

And here's a picture of mine:

As you can see it is VERY messed up and it deffinately isn't exact to my body but its close enough  and turned out pretty good for not having a helper. Looking back on it now I wish I would've made a video as I went along but, thinking back I don't think I even had a camera then. So, I hope this helps someone out there. (The videos, not mine lol. Mine are AWFUL but provide a good example of what can go wrong haha)

DIY Photo Studio

How to make your own simple photo studio in your own bedroom!
ATTENTION!THIS IS EXTREMELY FAR FROM PROFESSIONAL GRADE AND IS FOR SIMPLE PICTURES ONLY! PLEASE DO NOT COMPLAIN!
Materials:
camera
lamp with movable head
solid colored sheet
sliding closet doors or tacks
2 belts (sliding closet doors only)
Directions
If you have sliding closet doors, put them together and pick up your sheet and belts. hold the sheet up next to the door and fold one of the edges in between the two doors. Jam the belt in there with it so that side of the sheet can stay there without you holding it. Do the same to the other side of the sheet but make sure that it is the right height up the door.
If you do not have sliding closet doors, take your sheet and tack it up to the wall. make sure it is even against the wall and is at the right height.
Next step is the lighting. I use a 3 switch lamp alone with a lamp with a movable head. This gives me the perfect lighting everytime. Just set it up in front of the backdrop you previously created and adjust the lighting position so it is just right.
Now that you have your lighting and back drop, all you need is a steady place to set up your camera so it captures all it needs to.If you do not have a tripod you can always stack random objects. I once used a glasses case, a shoe box, and a Rubik's cube just to keep my camera steady. Now all you should do is turn on the camera's self-timer (if it has one) and get to shootin'!
Hope this helps! I use it all the time in my little 10x10 room and most of the photos come out great! Keep reading!

P.S. I will post pictures to help you out with this later!

Well at least we have a setting...

So far we have up in the mountains, by an old road, orchards?, a couple of the fields here in town, a cactus lol, and some old buildings. Hmmmmm need some more ideas. Can't wait till tomorrow! We're waking up early to take them. I'll post 'em later.

My Favorite Models: Chanel Iman

Chanel Iman is a 20 year old Supermodel who is just plain gorgeous. I remember I wanted to be like Marilyn Monroe even though she was a couple of generations ahead of my time. I bet girls nowadays want to be like Chanel Iman.

Vintage

Vintage is my Favorite! No new clothes or trends that magazines or even I say are in style could ever fade my love for vintage. It is the old. It is the classics. If it is still admired to this date there has to be something special about it. In twenty years do you think people are going to look for a purple buffalo plaid shirt from Tillys? No. They will be looking for the same things we are today. They will be looking for the perfect Little Black Dress, stilettos that make their legs look better than any eyes have ever seen, sunglasses like Audrey Hepburn, Lips like Marilyn Monroe. They will be looking for the classics. If you want to be the next big thing, be the last. If you want to be the future, first be the past. If you want an inovation understand original invention. Plainly said. Plainly done. Go for the classics, go for the vintage.

Follow up on Teen Vogue Handbook

Wow! I posted that a long time ago! I think its time to give it a review!
After reading the whole book many times through, I have come to the conclusion that I LOVE IT! Although a lot of the tips it gives are kind of self explanitory, all of the pictures, stories, and interviews are really fun to read! And this is coming from someone who really doesn't like reading at all. My favorite parts are wear it gives you what you should get or have in your posession if you want to persue a certain career in the fashion industry. Here are some of the tips just for you!
"Research as much as possible so that you have plenty of visual reference points to draw from."- Teen Vogue Handbook
"Don't wear too much makeup to an interview. People can be suspicious of anyone who tries too hard. You want an air of effortlessness."- Gucci Westman, to Teen Vogue Handbook

Summer Styles

Oversized Sunglasses
have been in year after year for a LONG time now. Might as well finally get yourself a pair...
Maxi Dresses
are not quite my cup of tea but this summer they have been put on a must have list. Just remember though, this is summer so, fun patterns and light fabrics please!

White Denim
is PERFECT for summer! I absolutely love it because, when paired with a colorful top, they are totally chic. They really put all eyes on the top though so, choose wisely!

Florals
are a fun light patern that can be worn with anything and on anything. If you find something you like thats floral, get it. Whether its a bikini, shirt, skirt, dress, or even shorts ( high waisted ones look really cool with a quarter sleeved plain shirt in a lighter matching color) it'll be a hit for sure.

Dip Dye
is a method of dying clothes which leaves different shades of color in a row. This summer any dye can be used so, go crazy! (I will put up a DIY on how to dip dye your own stuff later)

Denim Everything!
this summer, EVERYTHING will be made out of denim; dresses, shirts, shoes, you name it and it will be denim. But just like a good pair of jeans, make sure it fits just right.

Rompers
are great! Some people think they are old fahioned, and they are! But that's whats so great about them. They are a classic thing that almost look like dresses at a glance but, you can wear them much much shorter because they're actually shorts and a tank top all in one! They look great with a jacket of some sort. ( Floral ones with a jean jacket is SO cute)

And much more! Check in later for a part two to these summer trends!

Discovery: No-Makeup Day

I just discovered that there is such a thing called National No Makeup Day. Although its March 17, I thought it was interesting and think everyone should celebrate it. It would just be like celebrating your natural self and loving how you look. I also think it would be iteresting to see how people actually look and take care of themselves. Its actually crazy how many people don't take care of themselves just because they know they could just put on makeup and have that correct all of their issues. I know most of the year I will be celebrating this but as I know the rest of the nation won't be, I encourage you to do so next year on March 17 and look out into the world knowing that you truely are a beautiful person.

Trend: Military

Camouflage, Generals' stars, Army wear, greens, and browns. These have been seen more and more off the battlefront and base and more on everyday streets as the Military trend flourishes. Many people last winter were wearing Bomber Jackets as seen on Air Force pilots but now be on the lookout for much more such as, marching jackets (normally with double breasted buttons) camouflage shorts and tees, and plenty of brushed brass and copper detailing. At the beginning of the summer season, I had designed an outfit that I didn't think would be sold in stores because I didnt't think the trend would catch on. But, a few weeks later, I was in the check outline buying practicaly the same exact shorts I had designed earlier. The only bad part of this trend is that you CAN in fact have too much of it. You don't want to go out unseen in a total camo ensemble or all green and browns. Pair lighter cream colors with earth tones for a cool natural feel and add studs or any metal detailing for an edgy military feel. One of the many outfits I have made with my camo-ish shorts was a feminine take on the trend by using a cream colored V-neck with a sequin embellished pocket. I could also take a plain white V-neck with a pocket and pin a few Generals' stars on the pocket. So many possibililties can come out of this trend so, take advantage of it while its here.

Jewelry: Juicy Charms

Juicy Couture is an icon because of its outrageous ads, beautiful products, and unique style. I recently discovered, while on my search for the perfect charm bracelet, that Juicy Couture makes amazing, B-E-A-U-T-Full ones. Charm bracelets are my favorite because they are all individual and no two will be exactlt the same. They also show a little bit of you since you get to choose what goes on them. You can mix whatever charms you want. Thre are no specifications. They can be from different brands, look like different objects, or get them for different reasons. Another good thing about charm bracelets is that ever since they've been "in" they have never gone back "out". I know I am going to start up another one using strictly Juicy. I think everyone should own at least one charm bracelet (though not necessarily a Juicy Couture one of course)so that they can wear a little piece of them on their wrist.

P.S. They match everything! Bonus!

The Shoe: Oxford Flats

Oxford flats (or lace ups) are a classic shoe that have been around for a very long time. After the psychedelic 70s and 80s, the shoes have coasted under everday fashion radar. Thats until these recent years when black was the new black and chic was something everyone strived for. Oxford flats (not the heel type) can make any outfit different from the rest and are byfar my favorite shoe. Lucky for us, these shoes are timeless and have come back into style. Thank goodness! Everyone can use a bit more class even if it does just start at the feet.

Hello World!

Today is the first day of my new life. The life where I record all my thoughts, share advice, and keep up with things I start. I better enjoy this because I'm lucky to get a second one...
